Phase-checking DJ edits and club edits before release

DJ edits and club edits often sound huge in headphones, then lose kick body and bass on mono club systems. Disappearing lows are usually leftover L/R phase after widening, stacking, or layering stems. PHIXER is free continuous stereo phase repair (VST3 / CLAP / AU). It is not a time-aligner.

Hard clarify: Fix polarity and sample-align layered kicks/bass first. Use continuous phase rotation only when a stereo DJ edit or club edit still hollows in mono after that hygiene. Do not flatten creative Haas width that is the identity of the edit.

DJ edit / club edit mono fold checklist

  1. True L+R or Utility Width 0% on the full DJ edit and on any stereo kick/bass stems (plus a phone speaker pass).
  2. Note what disappears (kick body, sub, bass bed, vocal double low-mids, FX tails).
  3. If layered kicks or bass paths are still late or flipped, fix polarity and timing first.
  4. Only then nudge PHIXER on residual spectral L/R fights. A/B with the plugin bypassed.
  5. Re-check after any mix bus glue or limiter. Release only when mono still has body.
